This video was created for Micro Galleries, Sphere Series – Otherness. curated by Columbian artist Valeriana.
Working with the curator, drawing on inspiration from the exhibition themes and graphics, this video was created to help promote the online virtual exhibition during Covid lockdowns.

About the Exhibiton:
The Other, throughout human history until now, has been the one outside of the agreed social norm. You are Other if you are any variation be it your gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, economic status, or ideology. We are in a time where the old structures that protected this norm, are crumbling. Isolation has given us the time to ask important questions about equality, justice, and rights.

We are seeing an emergence of activist movements that call for change to the historic boundaries and labels that are used to define us. The voices of the Other are emerging, and now Otherness is a fertile ground for new discussions, and new ideas about the current system, and what we want humanity to become.

This exhibition includes work from around the world by members of the Micro Galleries International Artist Collective. They create art to challenge perceived norms in their art practice, their community and their personal lives. Their diversity helps us consider other ways of being, and the power and possibility that lies within that. This exhibition asks us to rethink ideas about bodies, minds, and identities; to shift our attention to the Other, and embrace their Otherness.

SPHERE evokes a new world and shape for artworks. The Micro Galleries International Artist Collective members are the guest curators, re-framing and re-envisioning artworks from their peers in the Collective, to give them a unique focus, intent and purpose within the larger fabric of our world-wide Collective and the global issues we face.
